About me
As a librarian for disciplines both in the Humanities (Philosophy), and Social Sciences (Education and Counseling for the Warner School), Eileen thinks of herself as a "coach" who can help you improve your research skills. She works with faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and local high schools, helping them find and manage the information they need. She is a UR alumna with a Master's degree in Philosophy, and an MLiS from Syracuse University. Eileen has both been a student and an instructor for the Association of Research Libraries' Digital Scholarship Institute, which focuses on tools and teaching methods for digital scholarship. Her professional interests include OER and OA (Open Educational Resources and Open Access), digital scholarship, instructional design and pedagogy (teaching). She's an expert in reference management and citation tools, especially Zotero and Mendeley. She has experience with managing scholarly identity tools like ORCiD, Google Scholar, or PhilPeople (linked to PhilPages). She was a first-generation undergraduate and graduate student, and cares deeply about equity and access in libraries.
